A lesson I learnt the harder way...

Once upon a time, Ghalib said -
"
Woh na samjhe hai, aur na samjhenge meri baat;
Ya rab ! de unhe dil aur jo na de mujhe jubaan aur
"
This translates to -
That person is not understanding, and will not understand what I have to say, Oh Lord grant that person with a larger heart if you are not granting me a better tongue.

The meaning is pretty simple - to make a person/party understand, either the listener should have an open mind to actually assimilate what the other person is talking about or the one who is saying needs to present his thoughts in a much more strikable, interesting, satisfying way so as to woo the listener.
How truely this couplet achieves the rare accolade for satisfying the idiom "one size fits all". Being a person from IT industry, I cannot think of any other example that snuggly fits in here - a client and a service provider duo. Either the client has to be open minded, having welcoming attitude, good listener or the service provider needs to stretch his might and present the solution so well so as to strike a chord with the client's pulse for a satisfactory relationship.
One will be able to identify situations that fits the idiom in every field and everywhere, almost every situation one faces in daily life.

This idiom also applies to the Kashmir issue that India is facing today.

But the ground reality is, today people do possess heart as a part of the body but do they really use the heart to react to situations sensitively.
